While the 2008 Budget was in favour of assisting households in Singapore to manage with the rising cost of living, the 2009 Budget will focus on helping businesses with their cash-flow and costs instead. The Singapore Government believes that by ensuring businesses stay robust and competitive during uncertain times, it will benefit the entire economy and help to keep jobs.
Other key focuses of the 2009 Budget will be on shoring up economic growth and jobs as well as developing advantages to meet the future.
