Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said during the PAP Party Conference 2008 in November that he believed that the high electricity prices are set to drop in the upcoming electricity tariff adjustment in January 2009. As he has expected, yesterday, the Energy Market Authority (EMA) announced that Singapore households will be charged 25% lesser for their electricity prices from January to March 2009.
Singapore households and and small businesses will be charged S$0.2293 cents per kilowatt hour which is about 25% drop from the existing S$0.3045 cents per kilowatt hour.
