The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) confiscates a record number of 3 million contraband cigarettes in 2 years. On 20 June 2009, ICA has netted its biggest recovery of 15,000 cartons x 200 sticks of contraband cigarettes. The approximate street value of the contraband cigarettes is S$1.4 million. The total unpaid duty and GST are estimated at S$1.1 million and S$96,000 respectively.
